Website Revamp...

As you may have noticed the website has been revamped. This change was necessary & a benefit of this is that the relevant sections of the club will now be able to update their page on the site as & when needed. The club website has now been visited over 8,000 times since its launch in March 2004.

New Volunteer Coaches...

Ian Townsend, Gary Hodgkinson & Dean Clark are to undertake the F.A. Level 1Coaching course starting in early December. In line with the clubs ongoing 'Development Plan', Martyn Goodfellow has just completed the F.A. 'Coaching Disabled Footballers' Level 1.

Grant Application Success...

The club today received just short of £5,000 for the ongoing 'Bracken 2' project courtesy of the National Lottery 'Awards For All' team. The club wishes to thank them for their generous support. This means the club has now secured funding of over £72,000 for the development of the club & community.

Underwood Community Bonfire & Firework Display. . .

An amazing crowd of around a thousand people yet once again witnessed a first class bonfire & firework display in their own community for the second year running. The club would like to say a big thank you to everyone who came & supported the event. The evening went off incident free & a good time was had by all.

Underwood Community Bonfire & Firework Display. . .

Due to the success of last years event, which incidentally attracted over 600 spectators. The club is pleased to announce that it will be holding the event again on Saturday 4th November 2006. Richard Hipkiss. . .

Has been appointed as the Men's 1st Team Manager. Richard who has played at non league, Unibond level brings a wealth of experience with him to the club. He is ambitious & already shares many of the ideas & views the club has already committed to for the future.

Football Development Officer. . .

Martyn Goodfellow has completed & been successful in achieving the F.A. Level 3 Certificate in Coaching Football. Level 3 is also known as the U.E.F.A. 'B' Coaching licence. In addition to his voluntary work at Underwood Villa, he has been offered & accepted the role of 'Football Development Manager' for Nottingham Forest. This new venture commences in September based at Quarydale School, Sutton In Ashfield.

U11's Pre Season Training. . .

Will commence on Tuesday 4th July, 6:30pm - 8:30pm, followed by Saturday 8th July 10:30am - 12:30pm, and every Tuesday after. All outdoor training will take place at Bracken Park.

All 2005/06 players are welcome back, along with any new players who wish to be considered. To be considered for selection to the 2006/07 squad, you must be able to demonstrate you are fit enough to participate at 11v 11 level on a full size pitch. Every player will be required to under go comprehensive fitness & evaluation test.

Theft! Can you help?. . .

The home of one of our players has been burgled today. Included in the stolen items was a plasma t.v., TV / DVD combi, PS 2 & several games, items of jewellery & cash. The most important item stolen was an Apple Mac G5, which a reward is on offer for it's safe return.

The thieves used a green saloon car & made their exit towards Selston. On behalf of the family the club ask you to inform the police or contact the family via 07782 140007 if offered, or have knowledge about items for sale that match those stolen.

This is a decent hard working family who has worked tirelessly supporting the club's junior section giving many hours of free help. I hope in some way we can assist them getting their property back.

New player recruitment. . .

Due to it's ongoing commitment to develop junior football in the community, the club is looking at creating new opportunities for additional teams for the 2006/07 season. In addition to players, we are also looking for parents who would like the chance to run their very own team. Full training & support will be given to ensure you have a stress free introduction to junior football.

Underwood Villa is looking to create a new Junior U8's mixed sex team & a Junior U10's girls team.

We are also looking to strengthen our U9, U10 & U11* teams.

Development work begins. . .

On May 22nd work begins on the 'Bracken 2' project. This is a 2.5 acre re development of land recently acquired from the Chaworth - Muster Estate at the northern end of the ground. once finished it will provide an opportunity for our junior teams to play on their very own pitches, increasing the opportunity to create new junior teams & membership of the football club. It is hoped the pitches will be ready for use for the start of the 2008/09 season.

Nott's Schools F.A. Cup Finals. . .

Took place at Bracken Park earlier today. Villa played host to the U11 Boys & U12 Girls finals. Bracken Park has now staged seven finals in the past three seasons.

M.A.A. Trophy Presentation. . .

League Chairman Norman Frith presented the M.A.A. squad before their final match of the season with the M.A.A. Premier League Champions Trophy. Villa went out in style with an emphatic 12 -1 victory over Derbyshire Amateurs.

Team Manager Andy Haslam also announced that this was to be his last game in charge as he was resigning from the 1st Team Managers position. The Committee on behalf of the club would like to thank him for his contribution over the last two seasons along with his brother David & to wish him every success for the future.

Underwood Villa win M.A.A. Cup Final. . .

Underwood Villa Lifted the Midland Amateur Alliance Premier Cup earlier tonight again Racing Athletic. Trailing 1 - 0 at half time, Villa took control in the 2nd half with two quick goals after the interval from captain Garren Haslam & Mark Downing. Steve Smith scored the third from a goal mouth scramble near the end.

This win ensured a league & cup double for Villa who are run away leaders & M.A.A. Premier League champions for this season.

Yet another theft from Bracken Park. . .

Five gates have been stolen from Bracken Park probably on Tuesday. Two 10ft five bar gates along with three 3ft gates were unbolted from their frames & removed. The gates were put in place for our Junior teams to play football in a safe environment. It will cost the club near on a £1,000 to replace them. Sadly this money has to come out of our development budget which will have an adverse effect on the creation of any new junior teams for the 2006/07 season.

New Bracken Park lease signed today. . .

Chairman Nigel Beer & Vice Chairman Martyn Goodfellow today signed a new 15 year lease on behalf of Underwood Villa. The new lease will allow the club to develop an additional 2.5 acres of land for the predominate use of the current & future junior teams. Potentially it could allow the club to double it's current complement of junior teams in the forthcoming years. This in itself would bring more income into the club to reinvest for the benefit of all.

The club would like to pass it's sincere thanks to the Trustees of the Muster estate for their fantastic support & good will to Underwood Villa Football Club in the past, thepresent & hopefully in the future.

Single Community Programme Grants Awards evening. . .

The Chairman, Vice Chairman & Child Protection Officer will be representing the club & supporting the above function tomorrow evening at Sutton Centre. The event is a celebration of all the groups that have received grant funding via the Ashfield Links Forum.

As the grant funding comes to an end the club would like to say a big thank you to Steve Shaw & his team for the belief & support given to Underwood Villa Football Club.

Cup Final awaits. . .

Well done to Andy Haslam & his Midland Amateur Alliance Premier Division Team who have reached the final of the M.A.A. cup. Villa had a no compromise attitude as they swept aside semi final opponents Ashland Rovers 7 - 0.

The final will be played at Dunkirk F.C.'s ground, Grove Farm, Nottingham on Thursday 6th April kick off 7:30pm against Racing Athletic. The club hope as many people as possible will attend & show their support for the lads, on what is an important event for the club.

Underwood Villa Junior Awards Evening. . .

The Junior awards evening will take place on Saturday 20th May 2006 at the Underwood Miners Welfare Club, 7:30pm - 11:00pm. Details will be available soon from the Junior Team Managers & on this web site. The venue has a capacity for 200 people, The clubs advice is to reserve your tickets at the earliest opportunity as not to miss out on this special night. Tickets will be on a first come first serve bases.

Sleeping Beauty. . .

The club is pleased to support wherever possible local community groups. The Felley Players are putting on a performance of Sleeping Beauty at St Michaels church, Church Lane, Underwood on the 5th, 6th & 7th of January. Performances commence at 7pm with tickets sensibly priced at £5 / £4 for front area viewing for adults / childrens & £4 for other seats. This is yet another quality show performed by the Players for the community.

Training cancelled. . .

Training at Bracken Park for the U10's has been cancelled due to a snow bound pitch. The next training session will take place on Tuesday 3rd January at Selston Leisure Centre starting 7pm prompt.

A.G.M. a new era begins for Underwood Villa. . .

At the clubs A.G.M. last night, Nigel Beer was elected to the position of Chairman of Underwood Villa with Martyn Goodfellow as Vice Chairman. Joining the committee also were Gary Wright, Andrew Dennis, Aidan Parkin, Dave Tring & Reg Eames. The club also acknowledged & thanked outgoing Chairman Tony Thorpe & Vice Chairman Pete Holland for their hard work in developing the club to it's current status. Both will remain on the committee & will be a valuable asset to the club.

Andy Dennis is the new U9 Juniors Assistant Manager. . .

Andy has now solely took on this role to Team Manager Gary Wright, as Steve Bull who has been also been helping in a 'Coaches Assistant' capacity has decided to step down for family reasons.

The Club would like to say a big "thank you" to Steve for his time & commitment shown over the last eighteen months. The Club also welcome Andy on board & wish him every success in his new role.

A fantastic bonfire & firework display, hope you will have one next year, i will be back. . .

That was the feed back we had last night to our first ever 'Community Bonfire & Firework Display'. The rain held off & the crowds flocked to join us. Over 500 members of the community warmed their hands to the impressive bonfire, followed by 50 minutes of a magnificent firework display. In between all this the music was flowing to set the scene, along with a 'Prize Draw' Hot Dogs, Burgers & Mushy Peas washed down with a nice cup of tea.

A big thank you to our 'Community Sponsors', Community Support Team, Ashfield Fire & Rescue Services; Dean Wilson for providing us with Fire Extinguishers.

Well for next year, all i can say is watch this space!

The Club is staging in partnership with local businesses a firework display & bonfire night at Bracken Park in the evening. Jacket Potatoes, Hot Dogs, Mushy Peas will be on the menu along with hot & cold drinks for a modest fee.

Gates open at 6:30pm with the bonfire lit at 7:00pm, followed with the firework display commencing at 8:00pm.

Head of Youth Development's new role . . .

In addition to his role at Underwood Villa, Martyn Goodfellow has been invited by Nottingham Forest to work for them in a coaching capacity based at their Football Development Centre. Martyn will start work for Forest on September 12th.

Underwood Villa's Coach Development Programme 2005/06. . .

As part of of the Club's ongoing investment & development of people, which resulted in six parents achieving the F.A. Level 1 Coaching Certificates last season. The Club is pleased to announce that in the summer Martin Wright also achieved the Level 1 Coaching Certificate. Martin will be assisting with the U10's Team this season.

Andrew Dennis who will be assisting the U9's Team this season starts his F.A. Level 1 Coaching Certificate on Sept 4th.

Scott Roberts who will be assisting the U8's Team has also started his Level 1 course which he hopes to finish shortly.

Martyn Goodfellow has just started his F.A. Level 3 (U.E.F.A. B) Coaching Licence with Derbyshire F.A.

All Football Coaches have or are about to be C.R.B. screened by the F.A. C.R.B. unit. This initiative was kindly funded by the Nott's Community Foundation, which the Club thanks.

After the summer break underwoodvilla.com once again starts up it's cyber engines for yet another exciting season ahead,

All Underwood Villa Football Club Teams are gearing themselves up for the forthcoming season with training & pre season matches truly under way. Villa welcome yet another new Team at U9's Minor level. This now means the Club will operate with five teams at Veterans, Men's, U10, U9 & U9 Minors.

On the back of another successful 'Summer Soccer School' & a highly successful 'Football Festival' which incidentally attracted over a thousand people.The Club has been busy working on acquiring additional land & securing additional finance to provide a secure future for the Youth set up.

The Bracken Challenge Cup gets bigger. . .

The Club's first ever 'Youth Football Festival' will now include 19 teams at U8,U9 & U10 level. A minimum of 500 people are expected to visit Bracken Park on Saturday July 16th between 11am & 5pm.

As well as football a large Bouncy Castle for children & adults will be on site along with the opportunity to have a go in our 'Penalty Shoot Out' competition.

If you are feeling lucky why not have a go in our prize raffle draw, where you have the opportunity to win a colour t.v.

Hot dogs & burgers will be sizzling on the b.b.q. & subject to the club obtaining an alcohol licence, why not wash it down with a cold beer!

Yet another break in at Bracken Park. . .

Once again we have been visited by people who choose to take items that do not belong to them. Yesterday visitors cut through a steel security box & cut off the padlock support to one of our storage units.

The thieves stole a brand new Mountfield push along petrol mower (which was purchased for the children's recreational area). In addition to this the previous Friday some brave souls took to ripping down new guttering

& drain pipes on our new spectator area as well as destroying fencing around the patio area. On a previous occasion we had a Mc Cullock Petrol strimmer stolen.

These selfish events have cost Underwood Villa near on £700 to repair. This money has had come out of the children's budget this year.

These crimes have been reported to the police. The police are aware of Felley Mill Lane being used by drug users & dealers & have assured the club it will now step up it's patrols to eradicate this problems, However they need your help.

If you see anything suspicious call them immediately. You can report it anonymously if you choose. Phone 01623 420999.

In simple terms if this continues there will be no budget for Children's football at Underwood Villa. The club cannot afford to keep on repairing / replacing stolen / damaged items.

Will go ahead as planned tomorrow (Sat 25th). Although heavy rain has fallen today, Bracken Park has had a pitch inspection & is 100% playable as of 6p.m. today.

Back in style. . .

That's how one parent summed up the return of the Underwood Villa Summer Soccer School as it kicked off today.

For the 2nd year running the community turned out in numbers to support or participate. The club would like to say a big "thank You" to the support team, Julie, Jade, Ruth on child protection / registration, Donna & Gill on food & refreshments.

The 'Bracken Challenge Cup' Youth Festival Day...

The club's first ever Youth Festival Day will take place on Saturday 16th July 2005. The event will commence at 11.00am & involve 16 Teams competing at U8, U9 & U10 age levels. Admission is free to this event & refreshments will be available on the day.

This will be the first pre 2005/06 season outing for the Underwood Villa age groups.

Nott's F.A. Award for Underwood Villa...

Underwood Villa Football Club's contributions to 'Grass roots soccer' have been recognised by the Nottinghamshire Football Association in their annual awards event. Underwood Villa is the winner of the 'Adult Charter Club' section. Underwood has now been put forward as the Nott's F.A. representative in the 'Regional Final'. Well Done to everyone's efforts. The end product of this is that Children are playing football!.

Youth Football Trials...

Underwood Villa U8 / U9 / U10 trials commence on Tuesday 28th June 2005 at Bracken Park 6.30pm - 7.45pm. Any persons interested can either make their intent know by either e mailing us or by attending our Summer Soccer School.

Please note we are an F.A. Charter Standard Football Club & operate an open policy for all regardless of race, ability or sex Child protection is an issue we take very serious at the club. All Youth Team Managers are F.A. qualified Coaches & have or will be F.A. C.R.B. sceened in the the close season. If you have any questions or concerns you can address them by e mail to our 'Child Protection Officer'.

The Summer Soccer School...

Will commence 10am on Saturday 4th June 2005. Like last year regardless of who you played for, you will need to fill out a registration form to gain entry to the sessions.

The registration desk will be open from 9am. Parents / Guardians please ensure you complete the form which will require contact numbers for yourself & your Child's doctor along with any medical conditions they have.

The sessions will last for one hour at a cost of £3 per Child. Please ensure your Child has the following with him: waterproof jacket, at least 1ltr of non fizzy fluid, jewellery removed or taped up, Shin guards & appropriate footwear.

To ensure smooth running of this years Soccer School we ask you to fill out the 'intent' form which will be circulated to the local schools w/c 22nd May. May we remind you this is a high demand event so make sure you fill out your forms a.s.a.p.

Bracken Park offers, on site parking, toilets, changing facilities, undercover spectator area, hot food & refreshments.

Sponsorship Deal...

The Club is please to announce Frontline Fencing will be sponsoring Underwood Villa U10's for the 2005/06 season. Frontline fencing has done some excellent work for the club in our Bracken Park 'Re Development Programme' on Phases 1,2 & 3.

A big thanks & well done...

to everybody who attended, provided back up, presented & won last night. Over 150 people were at the Miner Welfare 'Youth Presentation Evening' to enjoy what turned out to be be a great night. Special thanks go to Craig Lees (Nottinghamshire Football Development Officer) & Steve Chettle who presented the awards, Andy & Jason our D.J's & to the Miners Welfare Committee for allowing us to use the event hall.

Underwood Villa, U9 Cup Winners......

Our U9's earlier today lifted the M.T.Y.F.L. Div 2 Sup Cup played at Forest Town, Mansfield. Our scoring was opened by Joe Wright who scored with an excellent piece of individual skill by dribbling passed three opponents before hitting the net from a tight angle. 1 - 0 at half time, Antony Newberry then went on a personal scoring mission in the 2nd half with two goals (his first & second of the season). All the lads played well & did themselves proud, but Man Of The Match goes to Keiran Beer who put in an awsome performance. Final score was Underwood Villa 3 - 0 Manor 4th Yellow.

Former Forest Star Steve Chettle will be the special guest at the 'Youth Presentation Awards' evening at the Miners Welfare Club on Saturday May 14th.

There are a small amount of tickets still available for this event, priced at £1 for Adults & 50p for Children. Inclusive in the price is a disco, buffet & an opportunity to enter the prize draw.

Bracken Park played host tonight to the N.S.F.A. Girls U16 Cup Final. History was in the making with this, the first ever girls match on the pitch.

Another plus was the appearance of England U17 International Sophie Bradley, who Captained Gedling School & was on the score sheet 'five' times as her Team ran out 9 - 0 winners.

Cup Final details have now been announced for the M.T.Y.F.L. Div 2 Supplementary Cup Final.

Underwood Villa U9's V Manor 4th Yellow will kick off at 12 noon on Monday May 2nd at Forest Town Welfare F.C. Clipstone Rd East, Forest Town, Mansfield.

The U9's Squad hope as many people as possible will come & support them in there first ever Cup Final appearance. Tickets cost £1 Adult & 50p for Children.

Bracken Park has once again been asked to play host for the Nottinghamshire Schools Football Association by staging three County Cup finals for them next month.

The club feels honoured to be asked once again to stage these important N.S.F.A. fixtures.

Five Cup Finals in two seasons shows what high confidence the governing body has in the club's ability to manage such prestigious events.

Underwood Villa's Annual 'Race Night' is on Friday 15th April Starting at 8pm. If you wish to sponsor any of the nine races the cost is £25 per race.

The club is looking for people to purchase horses at £4 per go (the winning horse owner will collect £12). Previously 'Race Nights' has proven highly popular & successful.

We are hoping to provide some light snacks & nibbles in addition to drinks that can be purchased at the bar.

All profits will go into the clubs essential summer 'Pitch Maintenance Programme' which will provide a better quality pitch for all.

Head of Youth Development Martyn Goodfellow in addition to his role at Underwood Villa is now also working with Mansfield Town at their 'Centre of Excellence'.

This opportunity will allow Martyn to work with higher calibre players which will assist him in his coaching development.

Martyn is planning to start work on his F.A. Level 3 / U.E.F.A. 'B' Licence coaching badge in the summer.

Underwood Villa 'Youth Awards Evening' will take place at the 'Underwood Miners Welfare Club' on Saturday 14th May 2005, 7.30pm - 11pm. The main hall has a capacity for 200 people. Ticket priority will be in order of, players, immediate family, Club officials, Saturday Soccer School participants & family, Underwood School & then will be available to the community. Ticket prices to whom it applies to will be, £1 for adults & 50p for children. All profits will be reinvested in our 'Youth Development programme'.

Tuesday's Underwood School cup match to be held at Bracken Park has also been cancelled. You are advised to speak to the school directly about this fixture possibly being rearranged at another venue.

Ashfield District Council Planning Department today passed plans submitted by the club to create a new grass area for the use of football situated behind the goal furthest from the car park. The Project known as 'Bracken 2' will facilitate the football development of young people in the community in a safe modern environment. Although in it's early stages the club would hope that this project would be completed ready for the summer of 2006. It is anticipated the new area would create 3 new mini soccer pitches width ways & 1 larger pitch length ways. It is also hoped to accommodate the Saturday morning Soccer School.

The club is planning to hold various fund raising events in the forthcoming months to part finance this project. One of these events will be a fun 'Race Night' details which will follow soon.

The club hopes the community will support it's future events, this enabling our children of today to have a brighter future tomorrow.

Ashfield Links Forum have kindly agreed to fund Phase 2 of the clubs Health & Safety programme aimed at providing a safer environment at Bracken Park for young people. The £4,500 Project will enabled the club to secure the car park perimeter as well as creating a protection area for spectators, players & match officials. An 'Emergency Vehicle Access' will also be created as part of the ongoing safety measures. 'Frontline Fencing' who did a great job on phase 1 will again be the contractor for this project.

Underwood Villa's M.A.A. forward Steve Smith was on the score sheet last night in a representative match between the Nott's F.A. oldest Saturday league (Midland Amateur Alliance) team & the newest (Nott's Senior League) team. The match was in recognition of the existence of the M.A.A. for the last 100 years. Unfortunately Steve's goal was a concilation effort as his team went down 6-1to the new boys in town.

A break in at Bracken Park occurred last night. Our two storage units had their padlocks cut off, we are currently investigating what has been stolen. The culprit(s) unknowingly left incriminating evidence at the scene which the club has forwarded to the police.

Sadly the cost of new padlocks (£80) will have a knock on effect on the Children's budget in the forthcoming months.

If you saw anything suspicious around the ground or have any information about this crime please contact the police.

Bracken Park's new entrance is now completed & ready to use. The entrance size has been widened from 10' to 30' to allow safer entry & exit to & from the ground. This in turn will allow visiting teams coaches & other large vehicles to enter the car park with ease when the need arises.

Planning application has today been submitted to Ashfield District Council Planning Office requesting permission to create an open grass area measuring an aprox area of 900sq m for the predominant use of juveniles to participate in football related activities organised by the Club.

This once again demonstrates the Club's commitment to the community in providing oportunities for their children to develop their football education in a safe appropriate environment.

The Club are pleased to announce Gary Wright today obtained his F.A. Level 1 Coaching Certificate. This now makes Gary a fully qualified F.A. Coach. Underwood Villa 'Lotto' Announcement.

The committee has been asked by several residence of Underwood where they can purchase the Clubs very successful 'Lotto' tickets from.

The Club is pleased to announce that 'Chris' landlord of Sandhill's Tavern has kindly agreed to support the Club and sell the tickets from the premises.

Tickets are only 50p each with, 50% going to the winner and the other 50% reinvested in the Club.

Football In The Community.

Due to one of the wettest Augusts ever, it has been decided to relocate F.I.T.C. to UNDERWOOD RECREATIONAL GROUND. This decision has been taken to preserve the playing surface of Bracken Park for the forthcoming season.

The first session will take place on SATURDAY 11TH SEPTEMBER 2004.

There will be no change to the coaching times or costs!

The Club is still hopeful of acquiring additional land for out Youth Development set up in the near future.

The Club is pleased to announce it will be supporting the Gala on Sunday 25th July 2004 held on the Underwood Community Ground, starting at 1.00pm.

Our pitch will be situated at the opposite end of the Community hall.

Sandhills Community Challenge Cup.

On a rain swept, high winds type of afternoon Underwood School and Selston Bagthorpe School battled it out for the Sandhills Community Challenge Cup at Bracken Park.

All the goals came in the first 10 minutes, with Underwood applying alot of early pressure and deservedly taking a sixth minute lead. Bagthorpe hit back within three minutes with an equaliser in the ninth minute, followed by what

proved to be the winner a minute later. Both teams had chances to score in the second half, but Bagthorpe held their lead.

The Club would like to say a big thank you to Chris of 'The Sandhills Tavern' for his kind sponsorship of the cup and medals, and for taking time to present them.

Summer Holiday Soccer School 2004.

Following on from our hugely successful 2 day 'Soccer School' in June we are pleased to announce due to public demand it's back!. . . . . . . .

The Club are pleased to announce that they will be adding another Junior side to their new Youth set up for 2004/05 at Under 8 level.

The Committee would like to welcome Gary Wright to the Club as the new U8's Manager.

Due to the success of our 'Football in the Community' soccer school we now have to split the session into two.

U6,U7,U8 and U9's Coaching session will be 9.45am - 10.45am.

U10,U11,U12 and U13's will be 11.00am - 12.pm.

Due to public demand 'Football in the Community' will continue throughout July and most of August at Bracken Park. An announcement will be made early August indicating what the plans are for it's continuation beyond that time.

New Adult Team Manager.

The Committee is please to announce today that Andy Haslam has agreed to become the Men's Team Manager for the 2004/05 season.

Andy brings a wealth of experience with him. Teams which he has played for include, Brinsley, Selston Co op, Rainworth and Eastwood Town.

Successful management spells with A.D.A.S.C., Selston White Lion, Blackwell M.W. and Selston F.C. has given him first hand knowledge of quality local players. It is hoped this valuable knowledge will assist him in making significant additions to the Men's Team squad in time for the new season.

Football in the Community Launch Day.

The sun shone, the sausages sizzled and the children smiled. Football in the community kicked off 10 a.m. Saturday 24th. What a great day! We even had Baz's 'dog training school'. (Sorry, beyond the Coaches control that one).

Coach Right.

Today an agreement was reached between Youth Development Coach Martyn Goodfellow and "Coach Right" owner Darren Kelk for Coach Right to manage the club's Saturday morning coaching sessions. Darren is currently Youth Team Coach for Mansfield Town U15's and has two full time and several part time coaches working for him at several locations.

This is a great opportunity for the children to learn from highly experienced qualified coaches who operate at F.A. Coaching Levels 1, 2 and 3.

Today the club issued to our partnership schools information about proposed 'Football in the community' coaching courses in conjunction with coaching company 'Coach Right'. Club secretary Ian Farnsworth and Head of Youth Development Martyn Goodfellow today held a meeting with new Nott's F.A. Development Officer Craig Lees in connection with the clubs ambitions to elevate it's status to an F.A. Charter Standard Club. The club is hopeful of achieving this status in the close season.

Child Protection Officer.

The committee are pleased to announce Louise Williams has joined the club as Child Protection Officer. Louise currently operates in this role for Ripley Colts. Louise is also a qualified F.A. Level 1 coach.

School Link.

An agreement was reached today between Underwood Villa and Underwood School. Both parties will work together in terms of ground sharing and the club are looking at offering coaching to the school in the near future with other initiatives being discussed for later in the year.

New Youth Development Coach.

Underwood Villa committee today welcomed Martyn Goodfellow to the club. Martyn's key objective is to set up a Youth Development structure, in place for the summer of 2004. Martyn will also manage the new Under 9 team for the 2004/05 season.
